Charles is a music journalist, author, and editor based out of Seattle, Washington. He is known for covering Jimi Hendrix, Bruce Springsteen, but mostly Kurt Cobain. His book, Heavier Than Heaven won the 2002 ASCAP Award for Outstanding Biography. While doing research for the Jimi Hendrix biography, he mistakingly rediscovered the gravesite of Hendrix's mother, Lucille Hendrix, in Renton, Washington.
